Museum of Mountain Ecology was founded on the basis of the Carpathian biosphere reserve in the early 90-ies of XX century. The exposition of the museum and is now updated with new exhibits and is in its formative stages. The idea and the direct inspiration for the creation of the Museum is the director of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, Professor FD Gamor. museum exhibition consists of two thematic sections - "The nature of the Carpathians" and "Nature of the Ukrainian Carpathians". The first section provides information on the history of the Carpathian Mountains, their geology and geomorphology, the main types of landscapes, flora and fauna, as well as the mountains in general, as a peculiar phenomenon of nature. This section complements the exposition akvoterrariumny complex. It reproduced the operating model of mountain watercourse. Visitors can get acquainted with the inhabitants of rivers and shores of water bodies Carpathians, to see a live collection of the Carpathian-ichthyo, batraho and herpetofauna. In the second part of the exhibition reveals the theme of natural resources of the Ukrainian Carpathians. The history of early settlement of the mountains in the late Paleolithic period (more than 20,000 years ago) and to this day. Shows the originality and distinctiveness of the region's traditional activities - mountain farming, forestry, mining valley economy, which is an integral part of the cultural heritage of Ukrainian highlanders. The basis of this exhibition are dioramas and panoramas, made with the use of ethnographic elements.
